The Art of Ascension is a systematic mechanical process that directs
the mind to the stable point of reference; the Absolute, the
Ascendant, the home or seat of consciousness itself.
This is the point
of infinite possibility and the starting point of every part of creation,
every belief and every experience.
Using the Unbounded Ascendant as a lens,
there is nothing that is impossible,
no thing that cannot be known, and no obstacle that cannot be removed.
Ascension is simple and effortless.
It takes more energy to maintain our fear and illusions of life than
it does to relax into the simplicity of the present moment.
With a little guidance to see beyond the habitual patterns created by
the fear that we follow in the form of thoughts,
we can choose to become
active in the changing of our own perceptions and experiences of reality.
Once we have experienced a greater Truth than the Self-defeating habits
we assume are real, it is difficult to hang on to any illusion which
created them in the first place.
Returning the mind to the reality of "The Truth" of our being
naturally brings peace to our lives in expansion of consciousness and
stability of energy in our physical bodies.
All aspects of our lives rise above the horizons of our beliefs
and
become clear.
"The First Sphere"
Ascension is taught as a mechanical
meditative technique. Mechanical because it is automatic in the way
it works.
No belief is required to make it work
and it works regardless
of any belief.
The techniques of Ascension use Ascending emotions as
the drivers to take the mind inward, stimulating the emotional and creative
right hemisphere of the brain.
We then couple that with the personal
key that activates the analytical left hemisphere to bring both hemispheres
of the brain together into synchronous activity.
As a result of this,
the intuitive part of our awareness
is balanced with the analytical
part, opening awareness to enhanced perception.
Another result of this process is that the mind and body
settle into
a deep state of rest where stress is released from the nervous system,
refreshing the mind and the body.
The scientific equivalent of this process is similar to what the psychologist
Abraham Maslow describes as a "Peak Experience."
In our normal day to day activity both hemispheres of the brain are
working independently and without what seems is any order of cohesion.
Typically we think some 100,000 thoughts per day and many of these thoughts
are repetitive as well as self defeating.
For example, we often desire to make the best of our day and our lives,
but we may also have thoughts that will creep in that are self destructive,
such as self worth issues or past memories that will introduce themselves
in the form of opposing thoughts.
You may say to yourself "I want a new car", or "a new relationship",
and the opposing thought creeps in with any number of reasons why the
desire can't, won't or might not be fulfilled.
This is the normal process of the two hemispheres acting independently
of each other. The intuitive half of the brain countered with the logical,
both surging and receding in their thoughts and past experiences of
reality.
Maslow's peak experience is described as the
type of experience where both hemispheres settle into perfect harmony
or balance, such as when you are standing at the beach looking out over
the ocean and your mind and body settle down into
peace and relaxation.
Another, would be while standing on a mountain top looking out over
creation, a woman giving birth, or a runners high while jogging.
We have all had these peak experiences but are not often able to recreate
this experience at will, unless we have a method or a vehicle to take
the mind into this state of harmony.
Ascension is such a method.
We use the vehicle of the Ascension Attitude, to bring both hemispheres
together into a cohesive peak experience.
The mind opens to greater
perception and clarity.
The body relaxes, giving it what it needs to
rejuvenate and function at peak efficiency.
These techniques are taught initially in a set of four which build upon
each other. The set is called a sphere because they all work to bring
the awareness back to a center point of reference, the Absolute and
an objective conscious awareness.
Generally the First four techniques or Ascension Attitudes
are taught in a weekend format.
Friday evening a brief introduction is given followed by the instruction
of the first technique.
Saturday the mechanics of Ascension are explained followed by instruction
of the second and third techniques.
Sunday the final technique is given along with time to use all four
of the techniques, ending with a brief discourse and time for questions
and answers.
"The Five Spheres"
Once you have learned the first
four Ascension Attitudes you can further the process of Ascension.
There are typically 5 spheres of Ascension Attitudes that are taught
to the general public.
Not all of them are taught in a weekend format.
Learning more Ascension Attitudes help to facilitate the expansion into
the relative states of consciousness thru objectivity, intuition and
focus.
Ultimately the purpose of Ascension is to give you the tools to enhance
all parts of your life,
and to take it in any direction you might wish.
With the evolution of our awareness comes evolution of desire. We rapidly
expand into the greatest desire to enhance not just single parts of
our life but all parts simultaneously, to permanently expand our conscious
awareness as was mentioned in Joseph Campbell's statement, "Follow
Your Bliss."
"The destiny of eternity is determined moment by moment by the achievements of the day by day living. The acts of today are the destiny of tomorrow."
____________
Evolution and the Art of Ascension
"The high mission of any art is, by its illusions, to foreshadow a higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time into the thought of eternity."
Since the beginning of the human
race,
we have always engaged the mind and the senses to perceive the
world around us, and to recognize a relationship between the world and
our own human interaction.
We begin this relationship at birth;
in the first recognition of our
growing sensory perceptions, we learn to recognize our parents. From
them, we learn to recognize the world around us and from what we perceive
of that, develop a relationship with that world through our experiences.
We all have experiences - that is what being human is all about. Yet
we do not always have the same experiences.
What makes us so unique
is our ability to integrate experience into
life and to socialize with others and their experiences. We have the
mind or intellect to take experience and integrate it into our perceptions
of reality and improve or clarify our perception.
To put it in other words, we can choose to evolve.
From the very beginning we have tried to see the world
and ourselves in the best way we can.
Everyone always, and at all times,
does the very best they are capable of doing to live life in a way that
will create happiness, or fulfillment through satisfaction.
In retrospect it would appear that some do better than others, but the
truth is we will try to do the best we can rather than to intentionally
choose to create suffering in our lives.
"Follow your Bliss" - Joseph
Campbell
"Effort does not always produce joy, but there is no happiness
without intelligent effort. "
We are always working towards
our evolution.
Whatever we recognize as our inspiration in this effort,
lives in each one of us, in fact it lives in everything.
It is the reason
why we make choices to continue living rather than to stop where we
are in our present experience and belief, thinking that there is no
more to be experienced and no greater achievement to be had in our experiences
of life.
Some call it a Living Faith, or a divine spark that lives in all things. Regardless of what it is called, if there were no reward for our effort, we would not make any effort at all. The evolution that we experience is in the way we learn to expand beyond the beliefs of one world perception and into another.
If you remember how you looked at the world
when you
were 5 years old, and then compare that with how you look at it now,
there are probably a lot of things that you have learned since then.
Obviously some of the things that you have learned have made it possible
to see and do things that you couldn't at the age of 5.
The changes that have taken place have been physical, intellectual and
spiritual.
We get to where we are in our current perception of the
world by the choices we make to integrate our past experience and perceptions
in a way that will hopefully lead us to happiness.
That is what is called
intelligent effort.
Happiness being relative,
evolves into a more permanent foundation of
"bliss"
in the light of the evolving intellect
as it finds
a more expanded point of reference that transcends
the relative illusions
of changing beliefs.
Intelligence is not inherited, it is developed.
It may
appear that some are born with talents that surpass others but regardless
of who we are, we all have within us the ability to make choices to
develop what we have in any way we wish.
What you believe has a dramatic
affect on how you will choose to evolve, it has nothing to do with what
family you were born into, or how much material wealth you have.
Intelligent effort: effort that is made from greater awareness
or clarity of mind..
What is awareness? Having or showing realization, perception,
or knowledge.
"The evolving soul is not made divine by what it does,
but
by what it strives to do"
"The high mission of any art is, by its illusions, to foreshadow
a higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time into
the thought of eternity."
This means that any perception or experience is going
to change.
To understand change, is to give way to the inevitability that the universe
cannot be contained in any one belief or experience.
So to find peace
would not be in establishing awareness in the experience of change,
but establishing awareness in something that does not change within
each experience.

"Oh Sacred Drop, winning The Stars, winning The Senses,
winning
Power
and winning the Human Dance,
you are the Soul of The Sacrifice"
From the Rg Veda, Sukta 2 of the 9th mandala
All of life is represented in
this verse:
"The Stars" represent The Known; "The Human
Dance" represents the knower; "The Senses" represent
the process of knowing; "Power" represents the unbounded,
stable point that exists in all experience which we will call the "Ascendant."
"Soul of the Sacrifice": Sacrifice means to abandon a lesser-evolved
state for a more evolved one. By giving up the restrictions of a lesser
belief one rises or Ascends in expansion. This is the essence of all
life, this is evolution.
By intelligently abandoning boundaries of lesser beliefs one rises in
unbounded-ness that is not restricted by those beliefs in boundaries.
By intelligently seeing beyond the boundaries of beliefs one can easily
rise above them into unbounded awareness and release all restrictions
in the process of living life.
Sacrifice, then is the Art of Ascension.
It is not a painful or destructive act; true sacrifice is
the highest
Joy. One gives up what one no longer wants for a more highly evolved
state. It is the purest act of wisdom and
is the basis for all true
growth.
If you don't like the word Sacrifice then we could call it "Intelligent
Effort."
'Sacred Drop" is like a single grain of mustard seed, one-pointed, singly focused. Whenever the intellect becomes focused or one-pointed, consciousness is perceived as it really is, Infinite.
In a movie theater, it is impossible to see
the screen as long as
the images are projected. But if the images could
be coalesced into a single point, it is not much of a transformation
to see the screen as it really is, without restrictions or qualities.
This describes the mechanics of Ascension;
the intellect becomes more
and more one-pointed, and as a result the awareness of consciousness
as it truly is manifests, or appears to us, more and more clearly, and
very quickly.
Whenever awareness contracts to a point it expands and evolves. In other
words, whenever the awareness is brought into an inward focus that touches
the unbounded absolute it expands and evolves.
This is also what Joseph Campbell meant by, "Follow your bliss."
By taking the mind beyond the duality and quality of beliefs and feelings
of happiness and sadness it is freed from the burden of negatives and
positives.
Relative happiness is fleeting in that it is an experience which changes
with time. Our happiness can be distracted
by a thought that triggers
sadness.
Using the mind intelligently to lead the awareness into permanent expansion
is the "Bliss" Joseph Campbell refers to.
The experience of
consciousness as it is,
transcending all beliefs and suffering.
