The Body and the World
What is the original design and blueprint for structuring the human body and the world that it inhabits?
Even if we are convinced that there is much to improve in the physical world it does not take much to see a little bit deeper and suddenly there is a wondrous and awe inspiring creation of immense complexity and astonishing harmony. Our body works miracles every moment even when we abuse and stress it without pause. Our world is abundantly supporting us even when we do not listen to its message of harmony.
The Ascension Attitudes in the First Sphere give us very fundamental tools to clear our relationship with our body and also the world that we live in. In fact the two go inseparably together being ultimately a reflection of our inner consciousness and how it manifests into experience. Our body and its extension, the world, spring into existence from the source that has its center in our own heart. If we wish to connect with the creator and the maker of the blueprint we are only required to turn inwards.
The complex problems and challenges that we face now in this world can’t be solved at the level where they were created, namely in the surface of the mind. That will only keep us running around repeating the same scenarios. If we wish to rise to a real solution, we have to raise our consciousness to experience our body and this world from higher vantage point.
The way we are relating to the body and the world will change as we become more familiar with the fourth state of consciousness, the Ascendant. From this foundation of inner stability and purity we are able to witness and be more objective about the drama of human life. We can see how the physical world miraculously shapes itself according to our mindset. The more conscious we are the more quickly we will see the results of our thinking and our chosen attitudes.
The time is running out literally changing from the orientation of past-present-future linear thinking into a sphere of Eternal Now. The shift is so fundamental that it is impossible to encapsulate it into words, but it is happening now and it is time to do what we can to realign our relationship to our self, our body and the world, the Ascendant and all of humanity. It might sound like too much, but this is where the gracefulness of Ascension comes into picture.
The First Sphere gives us the correct angle and the simple and effective

vehicle to do this shift inside moment by moment as we live our lives. Nothing is complicated in the process of Ascension. There is no amount of effort required to return to the state of innocence. Just as we were born into this world into a physical body through our mother just so we are being born into a new world that embraces the totality of our being.
Nataraja Ishaya
The Holy Spirit is ever ready to lift up and heal everything of one's life, automatically, once one stops undermining Its efforts with self-destructive beliefs and tendencies.-MSI
Ascension and the Release of Stress
Since stress is the major cause of physical and mental illnesses, and the primary reason for unhappiness, the release of it is paramount to realize a more harmonious and fulfilling life, regardless of what is going on around you.
True Happiness and Peace and Fulfillment can only come from inside of you, because the Source of it all lies within you already. A by-product of the regular practice of Ascension is the automatic release of stress. This is so because 20 minutes of closed-eyed Ascension provides deeper rest than the deepest sleep at night. Because of this deep rest, the body more easily heals itself as the mind realizes its natural tendency to experience greater happiness.
The mind and body work together, with the mind being the master. Give the mind what it wants and the body benefits. The greatest happiness the mind can experience is to re-connect with the Source of all Happiness, the Ascendant. Each time you think an Ascension Attitude the mind automatically goes into the Ascendant.
This is also why the open-eyed practice of Ascension is so important. It prevents stress from coming in. The more regularly you practice, the more this happens and your life changes for the better, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Nandisvara Ishaya

It is never useful to force ourselves to stay awake. Ascension gives us what we need – if we need sleep, it is better to sleep. Any sleep entered from Ascension is extremely deep. Normally it takes six hours for the body to experience its deepest level of rest. But twenty minutes of Ascension produces deeper rest than sleep – about twice as deep as the deepest sleep at night. This kind of rest is highly beneficial; the possibility for deep and clear experience of the Ascendant is now much greater.

Gratitude
Similar in power for transforming the root stresses of modern life is the Gratitude Attitude. The focus here is on the objective world; this technique is designed to cure all erroneous beliefs and concepts about the body and the external Universe. It is the master key for unlocking belief in the limitations of the body, in sickness and in death; it also is the first stage in mastery of the outer world. As such, it is invaluable for healing disease of any and all kinds.

Stress
"Stress is the nonspecific response of the body to any kind of change which requires the body to adapt".
Stress can be bad when it causes upset or makes us sick, or good when it helps us perform better.
|
Internal stressors include poor lifestyle choices, negative thinking, mind games, and personality disorders. External stressors include physical trauma, social insults, major life events, and daily upsets and pressures. The result often is called the fight-or-flight response (feels bad), or the adrenaline high (feels good)...
The stress reaction starts with an rapid outpouring of adrenaline, triggering a number of physiological changes which are intended to be protective. The changes include increased mental alertness and sensitivity of sense organs, an increase in heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, muscle tension, increased blood flow to the brain, heart and muscles, and less blood flow to the skin, digestive tract, kidneys and liver. In addition, there is increased production of blood sugar, fats and cholesterol; also a bump in platelets and blood clotting factors. For some this adrenaline high can be addicting (dangerous sports, speeding, video games, violence, gambling).
The latest research on depression points to stress as a major cause of depression. BDNF (Brain Derived Neurotopic Factor), is found to be essential for normal survival and growth of neurons (nervous system cells). Stress increases the activity of the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis), production of inflammatory cytokines and catecholamines, as well as increased secretion of giucocorticoids, all which can dramatically decrease BDNF. If this continues too long it can lead to decreased dedritic branching (nerve connections) and eventually nerve atrophy and death.
Continued stress can lead to damage of actual body tissues and repair mechanisms. It is like a dying tree. First the leaves curl up and fall off. Just the main branches are left. Then the bark breaks down and peels off, and finally the limbs fall off. When this happens to our brain and nervous system the whole body becomes damaged. Problems like hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity and depression are common. We often treat the disease without ever getting to the root cause: stress.
We know of strategies that can be helpful in reducing stress. Changing lifestyle habits, changing stressful situations, diversion and distraction, and most importantly: changing our thinking. Most of the stress that most of us have is actually self induced. This is confusing because so many of us think that it is the external stressors that are the problem. (If only such and such... I would be happy). Recognizing that we ourselves create most of our own stress, however, is the first step to dealing with it.
Stress reduction can have a positive influence on physical, emotional, behavioral and mental functioning. I have found Ascension useful in reducing my stress and my stress reactions. I feel this is fundamental for trying to stay healthy in today’s world.

Overcoming stress
Contrary to the popular belief that excessive stress is a normal and even necessary part of life, research on the physiological effects of TM suggests that the body seeks to throw off stress as naturally as the body seeks to recover from disease through deep rest. In other words, despite the fact that almost everyone suffers from stress and the debilitating effects of stress have reached crisis proportions in most industrial nations, stress is no more normal to the body than cancer.
The energy, intelligence and satisfaction experienced in the fourth state of consciousness enriches the other three states of consciousness. The activities of the day improve, sleep becomes deeper and more restful, dreaming better serves to normalize stress gathered during daily activity. Stress is more and more completely eliminated and the body becomes more and more integrated.
Dr. Harold Bloomfield, TM discovering inner energy and overcoming stress
Deep Impressions - stresses
"Deep impressions," can also be translated "stresses." Previous unconscious actions have created stresses or impressions in the nervous system; energy rising resonates with these, turning them into afflicting, self-destructive desires; this leads to action to fulfill these desires; such unenlightened action forms further and deeper impression. The stored impressions lead to distorted desires which lead to distorted actions which strengthen the stored impressions. Impression-desire-action-impression-desire-action-impression. The I-D-A cycle is endless and impossible to break without movement from the side of the Ascendant, for the most damaging consequence of unconscious action is new stress in the nervous system which reinforces the stored impression and leads to stronger self-destructive tendencies. This I-D-A cycle of action-impression-desire-action-impression-desire is exactly what makes the bondage of the Waking State impossible to break without Ascension.

Holiday Retreat
I love retreats near the end of the year. All of nature supports the inward movement at that time of year. The ancients used this time of year to withdraw to nourish the soul and body. Only modern man is so out of touch with nature to “shop til you drop” or “party-hearty” year after year during the holiday season.
We are hosting a retreat Dec 20-27 in Oregon. Drop all your cares for a week to ascend. As you return to more innocence, you will begin to have a new experience of life. You can then begin the new year with a set of priorities to create the life you are meant to live.
