Innocence

Most often the word innocence is associated with children and the smaller the child the greater the intensity of that experience seems to be. The eyes of the newborn infant radiate other worldly wisdom and experience. An experience that is still more "there" than "here".

In Ascension when we talk about innocence and our return to that way of experiencing reality we do not have to become little children but we can actualize that style of functioning in our adult lives. We can be just as open and full of expression and energy in a more mature way. Innocence calls us to be present and without preconceived notions of what is happening or who we are. It is the ability to be wide open without fear or defense against the world.

How many remember an innocent request from a child. It is almost impossible to turn it down. It beckons to be fulfilled. It is a request that is devoid of any underlying programming of fear, doubt or low self-worth. The Universe rushes to fulfill that desire.

Innocence cannot be created by will. It is a natural part of who we are and manifests as a by-product of ascending. One can open up to it and allow it to enter like an old friend. Gradually one begins to experience it and it becomes a more and more stable state of being. The treasures begin to unravel before our eyes and the moment reveals its beauty for the innocent eyes. Innocence is the nature of reality. Anything lesser is born out of our own false thinking and reliance on our senses that can perceive only a tiny portion of reality.

Our return to innocence is as simple as the practice of Ascension. Through the choice and focus on the Attitudes one cultures the expanding awareness of the Ascendant and gradually in its presence one is simply immersed in pure consciousness, in absolute innocence.

The concept itself does not do anything nor is its meaning important. The experience is everything and it provides the foundation for further expansion in truth. Descriptions serve as pointers and inspiration but one's own cognition of innocence is what manifests that quality here on earth. One's own cognition of the Ascendant will manifest all good qualities that we desire in our hearts. We all know at least intellectually what those are.

Child-Like Innocence

Luke 18:16-17
But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. (17) Verily I say unto to you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Gospel of Thomas, verse 22
Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the kingdom."

Matthew 18:3-4
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (4) Therefore whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The great master Jesus spoke a number of times about the childlike innocence that is required to enter the kingdom within. But even more, he said that if a person humbles himself like a child, he will be the greatest in heaven. So what are the qualities of a child?

Simply said, a child has no worries or thoughts about tomorrow. He has no guilt of the past. The child is completely present with what is, giving himself totally to each moment as if in a play. Even though he cannot care for himself, he lives with simple faith that his needs will be provided. He may not know much but that does not seem to be a problem.

Until he is socialized by his parents, he does not try to cover himself up with anything, but shows himself completely. Humility is natural to the small child. If he is hungry you know it. He does not hold himself back. While he may get angry, moments later, the anger is completely gone and forgotten. If he likes someone, he shows affection easily.

Jesus also specifically pointed out the nursing child. To me, this illustrates openly receiving the mother. The baby in this example is only using their instinct. Nursing requires no skill that needs to be learned. Suckling is natural. Assimilating the milk is natural. The baby relaxes and accepts freely from the mother. Most often, people have high expectations about what is supposed to happen rather than simply and openly accept all that is coming in each moment.

The kingdom of heaven that we seek is only available in this moment. It is the direct experience of who we are. Those 100,000 thoughts a day pre-empt the experience of the kingdom within as well as the innocence that allows us to experience it.

Reality Spelled with a Capital "R"

The Ascension Attitudes are designed to clear out past beliefs and behavior patterns which inhibit full mental and physical functioning. By effortlessly introducing these seed thoughts at a deep refined level of thinking, the entire structure of the mental framework gradually and gracefully transforms to reflect Reality.

Reality spelled with a capital "R" is not the reality of life mixed with suffering, the common experience of most in the world today. The capital "R" kind of Reality means that life is lived in joy, with each moment experienced fully; each opportunity is mined for its rich opportunities for progress, creativity and love. An upward spiral of consciousness is created by ascending; a new structure of awareness is built upon the firm basis of the direct experience of Reality.

The Ascension Attitudes are priceless for the modern world. The intense pace of life is simply too great to be countered without the power of a profound new Teaching. These techniques revolutionize every aspect of life by introducing new experience of inner peace, deep rest and stability.

Ascension is extremely easy to practice and quickly frees anyone from stress. This opens life to maximum creativity, enjoyment, health and success.

We all started life with innocence and brilliance. It has taken us many years to cloud our minds with self-destructive beliefs and habits. But it is easy to begin to reverse this and move back toward the freedom and power of life in the present moment. Worry and fear are not natural, they are artificially learned and maintained by our beliefs and judgments about life.

It is not hard to de-program ourselves from the hypnosis of our past and cultural conditioning. As an immediate result, life becomes easier and more enjoyable. Freedom from stress means that each moment is lived fully and completely. Every day is new with wonderful possibilities when we are no longer victimized by our past.

A Reminder

Ascension works if we are completely Innocent with it. Believing in it is not necessary, nor is it necessary to expect or desire some specific kind of experience when we are ascending. In fact any prejudicing the mind in this way is counter-productive to the innocent inward movement of the mind. So, to the best of your ability it is important to be innocent, OK?
